In this book, the story revolves around a young girl, who is molested and missing in Guwahati, Kobita, middle-aged activist, who decides to search for the girl, his husband, Nayan a blind poet, who desperate for news about his missing wife, when riot takes place in lower Assam from where Kobita last called her husband and their son, Kabir who is in England. This novel is about seven days in the lives of these people. It is a study of the modern marriage, played out against the awareness of the question that gave birth to the Indian Subcontinents first epic, the Ramayana: What happens when a wife goes missing?
