Equalizing Access
Focusing on higher education this volume discuses the notion of affirmative action as a generic tem covering diverse measures quotas special institutions for the underprivileged extra points on a scale of deprivation that are employed to ensure equal opportunity in a democracy. It also explores the new trends of inclusion and access in higher education and the hitherto overlooked disparities of gender religion and the urban rural divide on affirmative action are also addressed.
