Through the case study of Indian democracy and its political economy, the book analyzes the state of democracy world over. The main problem of democracy is that it has been used to further their interest. However the book through case study of Indian democracy in particular and that of democracies as existing in world in general comes to conclusion that lack of popular participation and proper representation, particularly the first past the post or winner take it all has been behind the subversion of democracy and its high jacking by oligarchy.
