This book describes the Dalai Lamas spiritual journey and presents the arc of his spiritual vision from his boyhood in rural Tiber, through his life as a monk in India to his exile as one of the worlds most visible leaders. It also describes his thoughts on the issues as religious militancy, our responsibility for the environment, stopping the bloodshed in Tibet who might succeed him when he steps down, and whether his next incarnation might be outside Tibet and a woman.
