This book gives us the changes made in the IS 456 : 2000. Also CPWD has gone forth to revise the CPWD Specification 1996 in respect to the Cement Mortar, Concrete and Reinforced Cement Concrete. Some of the significant changes incorporated in the specifications are, the permissible limits for solids in water has been modified, the three grades of OPC viz. 33 grades, 43 grades and 53 grades and sulphate resisting portland cement has been included in the types of cement, the provisions on admixtures has been modified, it has been made mandatory that minimum grade of concrete shall not be less than M25 in RCC works, provision in the durability of Concrete has also been enlarged in line with IS 456 : 2000, a clause on `Quality Assurance Measures` has also been incorporated as per the IS 456 :2000.
